14. What is strategy coaching?
Strategy coaching is aimed at improving team members’ abilities to plan and create workplace strategies. This is less labour-intensive than skill coaching, and requires the coach to have a deeper understanding of the business unit goals.
While skill coaching is limited by the number of people who can be coached at one time, strategy coaching is limited by the number of business unit goals. To maximise results, The Emerging Mind’s Paul Kinsella suggests working more intensively with few goals rather than superficially with many. As a result, the business unit is aligned with a set of common outcomes and the activities necessary to achieve these outcomes.
